Like partner James Yap, Michela Cazzola misses Star WAGS but stays in touch
Like her partner James Yap, Michela Cazzola also has to go through an adjustment period when the longtime Star franchise player moved to Rain or Shine in a trade. Mei-Lin Lozada

CHEERING from the 'other side,' Michela Cazzola admitted, felt a little weird on Sunday night.

The Italian beauty found herself away from the girls she used to hang out with when her partner, Rain or Shine star James Yap, played his first game ever against former team Star in the PBA Philippine Cup.

“I miss my girls from Purefoods,” the charming Cazzola admitted afterwards.

Since she and James started dating in 2013, Cazzola has watched Star games in the company of fellow WAGS Danica Sotto-Pingris, Ruselle Barroca, and Cindy Conwi-Patrimonio as well as Star marketing manager Reena del Mundo.

“Of course I’ve known the girls of Purefoods like Danica, Ma’am Reena, Cindy Patrimonio, Ruselle for how many years, right? Of course I miss them,” she said.

To beat the separation anxiety, Cazzola still finds time to bond with the Star WAGS from time to time.

“I miss the girls but we still hang out together sometimes. We go out for drinks and merienda, ganoon,” she shared after Sunday's game which Star incidentally won, 99-91.

But being the ever-supportive partner, Cazzola, who proudly showed a picture of her baby Michael James, has come to accept that she, too, has to adjust like James.

Of course, it helped that she got a warm welcome from Rain or Shine management and RoS WAGS.

“I’m also happy to meet the new girls because they’re very, very nice as well. The wife of Jeff Chan, Donna, and all of them,” Cazzola beamed.
