MERALCO is looking at former Air21 import Michael Dunigan as its reinforcement for the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup that unfolds in two weeks.

MVP group media relations officer Virgil Villavicencio confirmed the American big man as one of the top candidates for the position on Tuesday.

Dunigan is expected an undersized Bolts side that got booted out of the quarterfinals of the Philippine Cup with proven scoring and rebounding.

The American big man normed 23.9 points, 15.4 boards, 3.3 assists, and 2.4 blocks in 42.4 minutes in 15 games as he led Express to a 6-8 win-loss card in the 2013 Commissioner’s Cup, good enough for the eighth and last spot in the quarterfinals, where they lost to eventual champion Alaska.

Dunigan last played in the NBA D-League for the Canton Charge, where he averaged 11.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 blocks in 21 games.
