MARK Cruz’s patience and perseverance are starting to pay off as he has drawn the attention of at least one PBA team.

The impressive performance of the pint-sized, yet unflappable playmaker for Tanduay in the PBA D-League has not escaped the eyes of PBA ballclubs which are pondering a move on the former Letran star guard.

Averaging 16.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.6 boards in 26.3 minutes in 12 games for the Rhum Masters, the 5-foot- 6 Cruz has led his team to the brink of a finals berth in the D-League Aspirants Cup.

Cruz and Tanduay are set to play top seed Cignal in a deciding game in their best-of-three semifinals.

One PBA team has confirmed interest in the fearless point guard but declines to make any move - or even make its intention public - in deference to Tanduay.

Any move will be made at the end of Tanduay's campaign, a team insider revealed.

Cruz, a third-round pick in the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft by the Star Hotshots, last played for Phoenix, which released him along with Josh Urbiztondo last November before the start of this season.
