Mark Caguioa leads tributes after death of longtime basketball patron Henry Cojuangco
Tarlac Rep. Henry Cojuangco died of an aneurysm on Tuesday.

BARANGAY Ginebra star Mark Caguioa led the tribute to Tarlac Rep. Enrique ‘Henry’ Cojuangco, who died on Tuesday morning. He was 74.

Caguioa wrote his tribute to his former boss on his Instagram account, saying Cojuangco was one of those instrumental people during his early years with Barangay Ginebra in 2001 where he won the Rookie of the Year award.

Cojuangco, younger brother of San Miguel Corp. chairman Danding Cojuangco, Jr., used to oversee the affairs of all the SMC teams in the PBA as well as the national teams backed by his brother.

“One of the most positive and cheerful persons i've ever met thank you for giving me confidence back in my rookie years. Thank you for letting us be a part of your life RIP boss Henry Cojuangco,” said Caguioa.

Several PBA stars and officials gave similar tributes to Cojuangco, who, according to reports, was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning after complaining of pain in his stomach. He later died of aneurysm.

His death came as a shock since Cojuangco is relatively in good health. He even watched a De La Salle game in the Filoil preseason tournament two weeks ago with Danding, who is team manager of the Green Archers.

Reports also said he was also in a meeting with his colleagues in Congress on Monday night.
