EVEN when he’s injured, Marc Pingris still finds a way to contribute to Star and make the team’s bond stronger ahead of its PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal showdown against San Miguel Beer.

The Hotshots star, who’s nursing a hip injury that has taken longer than expected to heal, has organized a team-building session at the Pingris residence in Pasig after practice on Thursday afternoon.

Hotshots coach Chito Victolero said it was a players-only team building as the coaching staff is still mapping out its game plan for the mighty Beermen.

“It’s a team bonding. Ping always does that,” Victolero said after practice. “Kasi binubuo talaga namin yung chemistry namin. Although magkakasama na kami ng ilang months pa lang, medyo maganda na yung samahan.”

“Maganda yung ginagawa ni Ping,” he added of the veteran power forward, who’s still waiting for his French passport so can leave for the US to undergo rehab.

Asked what activities were in store for the night, Pingris said it was a simple gathering over dinner.

“Kain tsaka laro ng arcade sa bahay tapos kuwentuhan sa laro lang,” Pingris said.

So after the fun and games, expect some serious talk on how the Hotshots can topple the powerhouse Beermen.
