PBA to honor soldiers who served in Marawi in Game Six of Governors Cup Finals at Philippine Arena

HEROES abound in Game Six of the PBA Governors Cup finals.

Around 25 soldiers who served and helped end the siege in Marawi City will be the league's special guests when Barangay Ginebra and Meralco duke it out once more at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The selected soldiers will be provided patron seats at the Philippine Arena and will be honored at halftime.

"This is the PBA's way of honoring the Filipino soldiers who sacrificed and continue to sacrifice their lives to rehabilitate and rebuilt Marawi," said Willie Marcial, head of external affairs and communications.

From the start, the league has been consistent in lending hand to Marawi soldiers, be it financial or just plain moral support.

Just last month, the league held a fun run at Camp Aguinaldo for the same benefit while other teams such as Phoenix and Star personally visited wounded soldiers who are confined in the hospital.
