LA Tenorio is confident enough that Barangay Ginebra is very much alive in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals against San Miguel Beer that he’s already thinking that the series can go the distance despite the Gin Kings already on the brink of elimination.

Suffering a 102-81 beating in Game Four to fall, 1-3, in the best-of-seven affair, the Gin Kings try to at least extend the series to another game with a win in Game Five on Saturday night at the Cuneta Astrodome.

While setting his sights on the task at hand, Tenorio is also looking far ahead.

“Sana madala namin yung never-say-die spirit namin for the next three games,” the Gin Kings star beamed. “The next game first yung kailangan namin.”

“Now, it's time for us to adjust again kung ano yung gagawin namin,” he added ahead of Game Five that tips off at 6:30 p.m. “We cannot afford to lose our focus next game because it's a do-or-die for us.”

Tenorio put up 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting, three assists, two steals, and one board in 30 minutes, was one of the few bright spots for the Gin Kings in Game Four, becoming one of the few bright spots for the Gin Kings in Game Four along with Japeth Aguilar.

But Tenorio would rather see a balanced effort, especially on defense.

“It's not about me or Japeth scoring all the points. It's really the team contribution,” Tenorio said. “I'm not talking about offense only but defensively also kaya ano eh, definitely, we're not going to win na dalawa or isang player lang talaga.”

“Kasi itong team team namin built in a way na equal contribution kami every single game, just like last game, we won because everyone contributed defensively and offensively,” he added, referring to their 95-87 win in Game Three.

And Tenorio knows the Gin Kings have to duplicate that kind of A-game to live for another day.

“We just have to really be focused on everything that we do, like every little thing na adjustment namin, kailangan namin na sobrang pulido,” Tenorio said. “Kasi we cannot afford to make mistakes especially against San Miguel.”

“We'll be ready, we're not going to quit right away,” he added. “We've been in this situation so many times playing do-or-die games for three or four straight games. We'll see. It's not impossible, it's possible naman eh.”
