NLEX is set to give Kiefer Ravena his due as the No. 2 pick overall in the last PBA draft as the former college star is set to sign a max deal with the Road Warriors this Thursday.

Ravena will be receiving the maximum contract allowable for a rookie of three years worth P8.5 million.

The two-time UAAP MVP out of Ateneo is to receive a salary of P150,000 a month on his first year, P225,000 on the second, and P350,000 on the final season.

NLEX team official Ronald Dulatre confirmed the signing is set this week but declined to reveal figures.

"We've already agreed in principle. We will have the formal signing this week," he said.

NLEX coach Yeng Guiao said the deal speaks of the real value of Ravena, who he describes as a smart player with a high basketball IQ.

Meanwhile, No. 3 pick Raymar Jose will be offered just a one-year max deal contract by Blackwater.

A team insider said it would be easy to extend the contract if the Gilas Pilipinas stalwart out of Far Eastern University perform according to expectations.

That would be better for Jose, the insider added, than be tied up to a longer contract but play below par.

Meanwhile, Joseph Uriobu has been re-signed to a new, two-year deal by Phoenix under new coach Louie Alas. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
