TWO former Ateneo star playmakers take the spotlight as Barangay Ginebra and NLEX face off on Saturday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

LA Tenorio and Kiefer Ravena lead their respective teams, with the former hoping to steer the Gin Kings to back-to-back wins, and the latter snap a four-game losing streak of the Road Warriors after their 5 p.m. matchup

Ravena, the early frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award, is eager to not just face, but learn from a senior floor general in Tenorio, who’s in his 12th year in the league.

“I just want to study, coming up against one of the best point guards to play in the PBA in LA,” Ravena said. “And my batchmates Scottie (Thompson) and Kevin (Ferrer), We’re going to get our hands full again just like every other game.”

“Ginebra is Ginebra and I'm excited to play against them,” he added. “They're one of the best teams in the league, the best crowds.”

Ravena was one of the few bright spots in the Road Warriors’ 97-86 loss to Rain or Shine, tallying 14 points, three assists, two boards, and two steals, but the young cager scored just two points in the first half where the Elasto Painters started to pull away.

Tenorio, on the other hand, was his usual steady self the last time, scattering a team-high-tying 23 points, six assists, five boards, two steals in their 100-96 win over San Miguel Beer last Sunday.
