SAN Miguel Beer star June Mar Fajardo took his late benching in stride after the Beermen’s stunning 80-77 loss to Blackwater on Wednesday night.

The reigning league MVP didn’t see a single minute of action in the fourth quarter of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup game against the Elite after putting up a sub-par performance in the first three quarters.

Coach Leo Austria instead thrust import Ronald Roberts Jr. at the center position, teaming up the import with Arwind Santos in a small SMB frontline during a tight payoff period.

But Fajardo is not complaining.

“Hindi naman (surprised),” the soft-spoken giant said. “Kailangan namin mag-trust sa sistema ni coach eh. Kailangan namin siya i-respeto. Coach namin 'yun eh.”

Fajardo also admitted knowing his shortcomings as he finished with just five points on 2-of-9 shooting and nine boards in 18 minutes of play.

“Nag-struggle rin ako eh,” he said. “Nag-struggle kami lahat.”

“Hindi ko nga rin alam bakit,” he added. “Yung mind ko nandun, yung kondisyon, pero parang 'yung katawan ko hindi sumusunod eh. Pero hindi mo kailangan mag-rason.”
