YOUNG San Miguel slotman June Mar Fajardo ran away with his second My Phone Best Player of the Conference trophy after beating Alaska’s energetic forward Calvin Abueva for the top plum of the PBA Philippine Cup.

Showing up as a better and much improved player this season following his stint with Gilas Pilipinas, the 6-foot-10 Fajardo amassed a total of 1141 points to deny Abueva, his 2012 rookie batch mate, the conference’s top individual honor.

Abueva came in a distant second with 889 SPs.

Fajardo was also adjudged 'Best Player' of the Philippine Cup last year.

The former University of Cebu center’s total points breakdown includes 480 statistical points, 551 votes from media, 71 from the players, and 75 from the Commissioner’s Office.

Fajardo is averaging a league career-high 18.3 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.7 assists this conference to help the Beermen reach the all-Filipino Finals for the first time since the 2011 season.

The 25-year-old Fajardo is hoping to help the Beermen end their 14-year Philippine Cup title drought, although San Miguel currently trails Alaska in the best-of-seven title series going into Wednesday’s Game Four.

Fajardo’s teammate Arwind Santos, the 2013 league MVP, came in third in the balloting with 523 total SPs, while Ginebra center Greg Slaughter (392) and Beermen guard Alex Cabagnot (390) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
