JUNE Mar Fajardo is not letting individual success cloud his vision of the team goal as he tries to anchor San Miguel Beer's bid to finish off Magnolia in Game Five of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Friday.

On a high after winning a record sixth Best Player of the Conference award on Wednesday night, the SMB cornerstone stayed grounded as he put on a solid showing with 16 points, 13 boards, three assists, and three blocks in almost 41 minutes in the team’s 84-80 win in Game Four.

Fajardo, though, scored all his output in the middle quarters as he was neutralized in the payoff period and committed five turnovers overall as Ian Sangalang outshone him in the final frame where his Hotshots counterpart led a late rally that just fell short.

That prompted Fajardo to declare that the mighty Beermen still have a few things to polish.

“Kailangan namin wag maging kampante. Kailangan go hard pa rin kami para makuha namin yung panalo.”

“Malayo pa yan,” he added. Kailangan ready kami.”
