JUNE Mar Fajardo added another silverware to his growing trophy case as he captured the Best Player of the Conference award after another dominant showing in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup.

As expected, the San Miguel Beer superstar won the top individual honor in the season-opening conference, and he did it in runaway fashion after topping the statistical points race and getting the most votes from media, players, and the league.

The 6-foot-10 pride of Cebu became the first player to win five BPC awards since mentor Danny Ildefonso, tallying 1217 points, way ahead of closest pursuer Terrence Romeo.

The award set the tone for Fajardo to notch a fourth straight MVP plum and join Alvin Patrimonio and Ramon Fernandez as the only four-time winners of the honor.

Romeo could only lead GlobalPort to the quarterfinals, but still accumulated enough stats to finish in second spot with 711 points.

Fajardo’s teammates, and Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos posed the best chance to challenge Fajardo for the award, eventually finishing third and fourth, respectively with 556 and 381 points.

Alaska star Calvin Abueva rounded out the Top Five with 370 points.
