Alapag dreams up crack lineup as clamor grows for 'Young Once vs Young Ones' match
Jimmy Alapag, Asi Taulava, and Mark Caguioa are among the 35-and-over set in the PBA.

JIMMY Alapag joined the growing clamor for a ‘Young Once vs Young Ones’ exhibition match, first proposed by fellow league elder statesman Eric Menk, in the long-delayed PBA All-Star break.

The Meralco point guard was so pumped up he offered his lineup for the over-35 set on his social media accounts.

"The talent in the PBA for the 36 year olds and above is unprecedented," Alapag proudly boasted of his 'Young Once' team as he also lobbied for the exibition match to be part ot the All-Star festivities.

"A great night of basketball for PBA fans old and new. Who's game?" he added.

On Alapag’s list for the Young Once squad are Menk, Asi Taulava, Danny Seigle, Mark Caguioa, Jayjay Helterbrand, Dondon Hontiveros, Peter June Simon, Reynel Hugnatan, Harvey Carey, John Ferriols, and Gary David.

Caguioa is the youngest in the group, as he’s only turning 36 in November, while Taulava is the oldest at 43.

Alapag, though, adds a slight request in one of the hashtags of his post for the benefit of their aging lineup.

“#MayNeedARunningClock,” the former Gilas skipper ended his post.
