AFTER a delay of more than a month, Jervy Cruz's long-anticipated move to Barangay Ginebra was realized. learned on Monday that the former University of Santo Tomas star was traded by Barako Bull to the league's most popular team for sophomore forward Rodney Brondial and a 2018 second-round draft pick.

When released the story, the papers for the transaction have yet to reach the Commissioner's Office but both Cruz and Brondial were already informed about the trade and told not to report for their former team's practices.

The PBA announced later in the afternoon that it has approved the transaction. has reported about Ginebra being the eventual destination of Cruz more than two months ago after the undersized power forward was traded by Rain Or Shine to GlobalPort for Jewel Ponferrada.

Cruz's reunion with former college coach Pido Jarencio at GlobalPort didn't last as he was immediately shipped to Barako last October 13 for Rico Maierhofer.

Cruz's arrival should come as a big boost for Ginebra, which has lost three of its first four games this season while struggling to adjust to coach Tim Cone's triangle offense.

Cruz is believed to be coveted by Cone owing to his realiable touch from mid-range, which is an important aspect of the triangle.
