JC Intal bared he's exhausting all options so he can still suit up for Phoenix in the PBA Governor’s Cup.

The Phoenix swingman admitted that bone spurs in his ankle will keep him sidelined for the start of the season-ending conference but clarified he has not opted for surgery yet, saying he's considering non-surgical methods so he can come back earlier than expected.

Surgery could keep him out of action for around four weeks, Intal added.

“Actually wala pang final na sinabi ang doctor kung four to six weeks talaga. And I’m weighing my options kung magpapa-opera ako o hindi," said Intal during the launch of USANA Team Pilipinas on Friday.

"But there’s another treatment na one week lang ang recovery, so I’m looking at that option. [So] hindi pa final 'yung four to six weeks,” he added.

Intal missed the Fuel Masters' tune-up game against the Star Hotshots last Wednesday at the CEU gym, where Phoenix coach Ariel Vanguardia broke the news that Phoenix's best player might be out for a significant period.

Despite the uncertainty, Intal remains excited for the team's campaign following a shake-up that led to the arrival of a new coach in Vanguardia as well as new teammates.

“We have a new coach, new coaching staff, we have two imports, we have an Asian import, the import will arrive this week, so of course I’m looking forward to our campaign this Governor’s Cup.” he said.

“Nagkaroon lang ng konting problema sa ankle but I’ll be back soon,” vowed Intal.
