MERALCO goes into Game Three of its PBA Governors Cup semifinals series against TNT Katropa without one of its top local players.

Management’s worst fear came through after confirming before game time that Jared Dillinger suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s 101-96 win against the Texters Thursday night that leveled the best-of-five duel at 1-1.

Dillinger wasn’t in uniform for the 5 p.m. match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“He’s definitely a big loss,” said Meralco team manager Paolo Trillo. “And it’s unfortunate the incident happened near the endgame.”

The 32-year-old Fil-Am went down with the injury in the final minute of Game Two and the outcome of the match already decided. Dillinger injured his hamstring while going for a fast break lay-up.

He finished with eight points on 3 of 11 shooting, had a rebound, and assist in 32 minutes of play.
