JAMES Yap will be sidelined for the rest of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup eliminations after suffering a right calf strain in Star’s 117-98 loss to San Miguel Beer on Sunday night.

The Hotshots superstar has been ruled out for the next three weeks after having his injury checked out on Monday morning by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raul Canlas.

Team governor Rene Pardo confirmed the unfortunate development in a text message on Monday.

That means Yap will be miss the Hotshots’ road game on Saturday against Alaska in Davao and in the team’s last game of the eliminations on April 13 against Mahindra.

Yap could also miss the quarterfinals if the Hotshots, who are currently outside the Magic Circle of 8, advance to the playoffs.
