PUREFOODS star James Yap said the possible presence of Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday will make the Kia Sorento a dangerous team.

With the Hotshots looking to extend their win streak to four, Yap said they cannot be complacent against a Sorento side that is on a seven-game losing slide after winning their first match of the season against Blackwater.

Yap said the Hotshots should expect a motivated Kia team looking to follow up their playing coach’s win over Chris Algieri in the boxing ring on Wednesday in Macau.

The Sorento went to Macau to watch their coach slug it out with Algieri, an experience of a lifetime for the players and coaches.

“Kapag nandoon si Manny, lahat ng players niya, nali-lift up niya. Kailagang handa kami doon. Hindi kami dapat pa-easy easy lang. Kailangan go hard,” said Yap following Sunday’s win over Meralco in Biñan, Laguna.

Incidentally, the lone Sorento win this conference came with Pacquiao playing briefly on opening day before he headed to training for the Algieri bout.

Meanwhile, Purefoods coach Tim Cone, a self-confessed Pacman fan, said it will be an 'honor' to coach against the eight-division world champion.

Cone, who swears he has yet to miss a Pacquiao fight, admitted that coaching against the 35-year-old boxing legend would be an "honor he'd be glad to tell his grandchildren" about in the future.

"I don't miss Manny Pacquiao fights. I'm honored just to be in the same room with him, much more being able to coach against him," Cone told Spin.ph on Monday. - With reports from Richard Dy
