Blackwater injury jinx strikes again as import Eric Dawson doubtful for Meralco game

THE injuries keep piling up for Blackwater as Eric Dawson is suffering from back spasms that will most likely sideline him in the Elite’s PBA Governors’ Cup game against Meralco on Wednesday night.

Already without Poy Erram (knee) and Mike Cortez (calf), the Elite will also most likely miss their prolific import who hurt his back early in their game against TNT Katropa last Saturday.

Dawson, who finished with just 13 points and 10 boards in 33 minutes against the Texters owing to the injury, skipped the team’s last two practices and is listed as day-to-day.

But the import is not ruling himself out.

“Today, I didn’t feel right, but tomorrow I might feel great,” Dawson told after practice on the eve of the 7 p.m. matchup against the Bolts. “So it’s just one of those injuries that you have to monitor.”

“My goal is to be out on the floor to be with my teammates, but they understand the injury,” he added. “I’m hoping for the best.”

The game marks a reunion of sorts for Dawson and the Bolts, his former team.
