NOT this season but next year for Hapee.

The Lamoiyan franchise is likely to become the newest member of the PBA family but will have to wait for at least a year as its application for membership has been deferred for next season.

Sources told Spin.ph the application of Hapee will have to be put off first as two recent expansion teams in Blackwater and Kia are still in the process of gaining their footing in the pro league.

However, sources added the delay is not similar in nature to the application of Racal Motors as the league is expecting to have Hapee as its 13th ballclub by the 2016-2017 season.

The league, the same sources said, is likely to grant the request of Hapee to elevate players directly from its D-League team once the franchise officially joins the professional ranks.

Lamoiyan Corporation has yet to release an official statement on the matter, but sources said the company has already been informed of the league's decision.

Hapee filed an application to join the PBA after enjoying success fielding a team that won championships both in the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and just recently, the PBA D-League.
