Slaughter rejoins Ginebra on 'minute restriction' in time for game vs NLEX
Greg Slaughter is set to return to action for Ginebra on Saturday.

BARANGAY Ginebra will have its twin towers complete as Greg Slaughter makes his return from injury in the team’s PBA Philippine Cup matchup against NLEX at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The 7-foot slotman has been cleared to play and team up with Japeth Aguilar again after missing three games due to a strained hamstring, a welcome addition for the Gin Kings in their 5 p.m. encounter against the Road Warriors.

“Greg will return to the lineup with a minute restriction as he continues to work himself back to shape,” Gin Kings coach Tim Cone said in a text message on Friday.

The matchup at the Astrodome was originally scheduled in Legazpi, but was moved due to security reasons brought about by the Mayon volcano activity.

The Gin Kings seek to build from their 100-96 win over defending champion San Miguel Beer last Sunday that snapped their three-game losing streak and moved them to an even 3-3 win-loss record.

“It’s a big game for us to see if we can create some much-needed momentum this conference,” Cone said. “It’s important for us not to relax after beating SMB. We have to keep our energy and intensity up.”

The Gin Kings, however, brace for a tough challenge from a Road Warriors side that’s eager to arrest its own skid that’s now at four games, the latest at the hands of Rain or Shine, 97-86.
