TERRENCE Romeo will surely see action for GlobalPort next year, but it remains to be seen if the Batang Pier star will start suiting up next month.

There's really no official timeline yet for his return, but GlobalPort head coach Pido Jarencio said Romeo is expected to return in January.

GlobalPort opens their PBA Philippine Cup campaign against NLEX on Christmas Day. Jarencio said his prized player might suit up right in their second match.

"Sabi niya, by January na daw siya eh. By January na siya," said Jarencio. "Ngayon, kung January... Ang first game naman namin, December 25. For sure, ang second game namin is January na."

Then again, it's up to Romeo, who is recovering from a knee contusion.

"Kung babalik si Terrence naman three weeks from now, okay pa rin kami kasi siyempre kailangan ma-kundisyon pa rin siya eh," he said.

Whether the former UAAP MVP will come back in time for their second game or not, the outspoken mentor is hardly worried.

"Wala namang problema. Kung si Terrence is ready, ang team ready na for him. Naka-prepara naman lahat kami," he said.

"Kung si Terrence wala, still, we're ready. Ang mga players ready na rin naman lahat," he added. "Kaya pagdating ni Terrence, malaking bagay na makakatulong siya. Kung wala si Terrence, okay din kami kasi ready naman kami."
