BARANGAY Ginebra made another young fan’s wish come true.

The Gin Kings on Thursday met Khail Gomez, an eight-year-old Ginebra fan who's fondest wish to meet his hardcourt idols was granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Khail is undergoing chemotherapy after suffering acute myeloid leukemia, a type of blood cancer, and lump on his heart, according to his mom, Maan.

But there was only joy in his face when he came face to face with Ginebra players, including his biggest idol, point guard LA Tenorio.

“Naiyak nga ako kanina eh. Sobrang saya,” Maan said, adding their entire family has long been Ginebra fans.

“Simula sa lolo hanggang ngayon, Barangay Ginebra kami,” she said. “Pag natatalo ang Ginebra, may time na hindi talaga kumakain, lalo na yung mga pinsan ko. Dinidibib nila.”

Tenorio led Ginebra players in praying over Khail.

“Katulad nung mga dating nagpupunta sa practice na mga bata, especially yung may sakit, it’s a privilege for and us and natutuwa kami na may mga bata na lumalakas o gumagaan ang pakiramdam knowing na may sakit sila, pero pag nakita kami, nabubuhayan sila, napapalakas namin sila,” the Gin Kings star said.

“Sa amin, anytime they’re welcome kung talagang gusto nila kami ma-meet,” he added.
