A BARANGAY Ginebra fan was nabbed by Astrodome security men after throwing a bottle that hit a PBA usherette at the end of the Kings’ heartbreaking 88-84 loss to Rain or Shine on Sunday night in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals playoffs.

The male fan, which was not identified but is in his early 50s and lives in Barangka Itaas, Mandaluyong, was immediately taken to venue manager Onyot Vendivel, who had his case registered in the blotter at the barangay hall just outside the arena.

The fan was caught throwing a full bottle of mineral water which hit a lady personnel of the league that left her with a bloody bruise just below her left eye.

The incident took place just seconds after Ginebra lost the opener of its best-of-three series against Rain or Shine after leading by as much as 19 points (35-16) in the first quarter.

The fan was apologetic to both league and Astrodome personnel afterwards, obviously disappointed after his favorite team lost the game in the final 53 seconds when Jeff Chan hit a technical free throw and the dagger jumper for a four-point Elasto Painters lead after Ginebra threatened at 85-84.

“Pina-blotter namin siya just in case the PBA decides to file a formal case against him,” said Vendivel.

If not, at least he has a standing record that could be used against him if and when the fan does the same thing in the future.

“Kung hindi naman, may record na siya dito na puwedeng maging daan para ipakulong siya kung gagawin niya ulit yun,” said the Astrodome official.
