TERRENCE Romeo admitted his emotions got the better of him on Friday night when he got ejected in GlobalPort’s 82-69 loss to Alaska in Game Three of their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series.

The Batang Pier star was ejected for the first time in his three years in the league after picking up a second technical for second motion on RJ Jazul halfway through the fourth quarter.

“Nadala lang siguro ako ng emotion,” Romeo said. “Kailangan ko maging mas smart next time.”

With the Aces leading by 11 with over six minutes left, Jazul committed an offensive foul on Romeo, who retaliated by bumping Jazul with his behind.

“Masama talaga pag nagpadala ka sa galit mo,” the 23-year-old Romeo said.

The frustrations piled up after the Batang Pier failed to sustain a third-quarter surge and shot a horrendous 27 percent from the field overall.

Romeo finished with a game-high 17 points, but had to take 23 shots to get to his total, which was still below his 20-point Game Two output and a far cry from his 41 points in the opener.

“Sa sobrang gusto ko manalo tapos yung mga gusto ko, parang hindi nangyayari, parang hindi naaayon sa gusto namin, so medyo na-carried away na ako ng emosyon ko,” the reigning Most Imporved Player said, adding they simply have to mature.

“Tingin ko yung maturity ng pang-semis naman yung kailangan namin matutunan,” Romeo said. “Kailangan ngayon pa lang, makapag-adjust kami every game kasi gusto namin mapuntang finals eh.”
