Dondon Hontiveros puts off retirement plan, signs fresh deal with Alaska Aces

DONDON Hontiveros is not about to call it a career.

The veteran swingman from Cebu has put off retirement plans by signing a new deal with Alaska, assuring that he'll be around for the 2016-17 PBA season starting next month.

Hontiveros signed just a one-year deal, although terms of the contract was not available as of posting time.

"Can't put into words the appreciation showed by the management," said Hontiveros in a post on his Instagram account showing him signing the new Alaska contract.

"I'm so grateful for another opportuntiy. Thank you Alaska, drive for 15."

Hontiveros, 39, had hinted at retirement early this season but appeared to soften up when he was asked about it at the end of Alaska's season.
