JUGGLING country and club duties appeared to finally take its toll on Raymond Almazan as the Gilas Pilipinas and Rain or Shine center was left dehydrated and had to be taken to the hospital after the Elasto Painters’ 92-88 win over Star in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Sunday.

The ROS beanpole had reportedly been suffering from a flu on the eve of his first game back from national team duty, but was forced to play in the absence of suspended center Beau Belga.

Almazan still put up a remarkable performance as he registered 13 points, 14 boards, and three assists in 18 minutes and 24 seconds on the floor to be name the game’s best player.

“Since Beau wasn’t here, he forced himself to play,” ROS coach Caloy Garcia said. “Surprisingly kahit may sakit siya, his rebounding really helped us in today’s game.”

But exhaustion eventually caught up with the 28-year-old Almazan as he could barely feel his lower extremities after the game and had to be stretchered out from the dugout to the ambulance.
