Read Danny Seigle's beautifully crafted appeal for fairness in wake of Johnson life ban
PBA star Danny Seigle aired his appeal on Twitter and Instagram.

DANNY Seigle rarely opens up. But when he does open his mouth, you better listen.

In the midst of the raging debate over PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa's decision to hand a lifetime ban on TNT import Ivan Johnson after an altercation on Saturday night, the league veteran's opinion on the matter, aired through Twitter and Instagram, made the most sense.

His stand was neither angry nor confrontational, which he had all the right to be given he was Johnson's teammate. But his appeal for fairness and compassion cast a sobering perspective not only on the Johnson controversy but on all matters relating to how the league is currently being run.

Seigle's words were certainly right on point.

"Hoping we can be consistently fair and compassionate and give everyone, be it player, official, coach, utility, media, or fan, an opportunity to air their side, no matter how bad the situation seems.

"At least keep the door open for a chance to express remorse; work on redemption especially if it involves lives and careers. Then they can deal with the consequences after deliberation and due process, and perhaps the outcome will be better received and respected.

"Show some love, it is Valentines."

Seigle is still active in the PBA but before we forget, he was also one of the candidates considered by the league board after former commissioner Chito Salud announced he was stepping down last year.

That position eventually went to Narvasa.
