FRESH from a title conquest in the UAAP on Wednesday, La Salle star Jeron Teng headlined the list of PBA D-League Rookie Draft applicants.

Teng, who was named Finals MVP after the Archers completed a sweep of rival Ateneo in the UAAP Season 79 finals, stands out among the 128 applicants who are hoping to be picked by the 10 teams competing in the 2017 D-League Aspirants' Cup.

Also putting their names in the December 20 draft pool are San Beda's Davon Potts and Robert Bolick, Letran's Jom Sollano, Far Eastern University's Monbert Arong, and Southwestern University stalwart Mac Tallo.

Among the hopefuls, 15 are Fil-Foreign cagers.

The Aspirants' Cup unfurls on January 19 next year with Cafe France and Tanduay considered the title favorites since reigning champion Phoenix didn't join the league designed to prepare young cagers for the pros.

Other teams are Racal, AMA Online Education, Blustar Malaysia, Jose Rizal University, and Wangs Basketball, while the newcomers are Cignal, Province of Batangas and Manuel L. Queon University.
