Cyrus Baguio, RJ Jazul, Don Trollano signed to new contracts
RJ Jazul gets an extension with Phoenix, Cyrus Baguio signs a new deal after being traded to NLEX, while Don Trollano is given a new contract by Rain or Shine.

AFTER Kevin Alas, it was veteran Cyrus Baguio’s turn to get a renewal from NLEX management.

The 37-year-old Baguio received a fresh two-year deal from the Road Warriors in what could possibly be his final PBA contract.

The offer came exactly a month after the high-flying wingman was acquired by the franchise in a three-team trade with Globalport and Phoenix, reuniting him with coach Yeng Guiao, the same man who picked him 14th overall (second round) in the 2003 rookie draft for Red Bull.

Terms of the deal were not made available as NLEX management will be making a formal announcement on the matter.

Baguio was the second player to be renewed by the Road Warriors even before the league’s 42nd season comes to an end. Alas was earlier signed to a three-year contract.

The product of University of Sto. Tomas scored seven points in 19 minutes of play as NLEX lost to TnT Katropain their PBA Governors Cup game on Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

RJ Jazul signed a one-year extension with Phoenix that guarantees him two more seasons with the Fuel Masters.

The Fuel Masters bowed out of contention for a quarterfinals berth following their eighth straight loss also on Wednesday against Rain or Shine. Jazul had nine points, four rebounds, and three assists in the Phoenix loss (2-10).

Meanwhile, Elasto Painter Don Trollano also inked a new two-year pact with the team after his previous contract with the franchise expired.
