Coach Yeng Guiao fined P35,000 for statements on officiating, flashing middle finger

THE PBA on Tuesday kept in line the erring personalities in Game Four of the Philippine Cup semifinals between San Miguel Beer and Rain or Shine.

Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao took the heftiest penalty, getting fined P35,000 mostly for his statements on officiating after the Painters' 105-92 loss.  

The outspoken mentor’s fines were broken down as follows: P20K for issuing statements detrimental to the league, P10K for using dirty finger, and P5K for leaving the bench during an altercation.

ROS assistant coach Mike Buendia and assistant team manager Jay Legacion were also slapped P5,000 each for leaving the bench during an altercation.

SMB star Arwind Santos and ROS forward Jewel Ponferrada likewise became P5,000 poorer each for picking up a flagrant foul 1.

The league also fined Paul Lee P1,000 after the ROS star picked up his first technical foul of the conference, rounding out the penalties that totaled P56,000 for the day.
