Victolero hoping to have Marc Pingris back in three weeks after US rehab for injured hip
Marc Pingris sat out the entire PBA Commissioner's Cup due to  hip injury.

STAR will have to wait a little longer before seeing Marc Pingris back in the fold in the PBA Governors’ Cup as he is in the middle of his hip rehabilitation in the US.

Hotshots coach Chito Victolero gave an update on the status of his veteran power forward, whose rehab is progressing steadily in Los Angeles.

“Nagkausap kami last Monday, nag-overseas call. He’s doing good,” Victolero said after practice on Thursday. “Hopefully early in the next two weeks, makabalik na siya.

“(By then,) tatrabahuhin na namin yung conditioning niya, plus yung kanyang basketball timing, yung rhythm niya,” he added. “I think siguro mga three weeks yun.”

Pingris, who missed the entire Commissioner’s Cup after hurting his hip late in the Philippine Cup semifinals, won’t suit up again until halfway through the eliminations of the season-ending tournament.

“Mga middle ng eliminations, makakasama na namin siya,” Victolero said.

Until then, Victolero is hoping import Cinmeon Bowers can fill the void and keep the Hotshots afloat after Pingris’ absence was felt in the team’s Commissioner’s Cup semifinals loss to eventual champion San Miguel Beer.
