IT was brief reunion but it brought back happy memories.

Former Rain or Shine teammates JR Quinahan and Raymund Almazan were together for the first time in almost two years after participating at the resumption of PBA Homecourt on Friday.

The duo joined Commissioner Willie Marcial and his staff as they made the rounds in barangays Dagohoy, Matandang Balara, and Pansol Bungad in Quezon City as part of the PBA's corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

Both Almazan and Quinahan were happy to be together again since the other half of Rain or Shine's dreaded 'Extra Rice Inc.' left the franchise in 2016 following a trade with Globalport for Jay Washington.

"Siyempre nakaka-miss si JR. Siya yung buddy-buddy ko," said Almazan of the 33-year-old Quinahan, who is now with NLEX.

"Siya (Quinahan), si Beau (Belga), Ryan (Arana), Paul (Lee). Yan yung mga buddy-buddy ko talaga. Yan yung mga nagturo sa akin ng mga kalokohan sa Rain or Shine."

"Nakaka-miss lang. Kahit magkakaibang team na kami, turingan namin magkakapatid pa rin. Nagkaka-text pa rin minsan, nagkaka-yayaan lumabas."

Quinahan joked he hopes the reunion would come true.

"Nag-reunite kami rito. Sayang hindi pa sa isang team," said the Cebuano native, who gamely posed for selfies and signed autographs with basketball fans, young and old alike.

But they did enjoy the experience, especially seeing the warm welcome the league received in all three barangays during the fourth installment of the program initiated under the watch of Marcial.

"Masaya dahil nakakabisita kami sa mga barangay. Nakaka-proud din. At least kahit sandali, napasaya natin sila," said Quinahan.

Almazan said he wouldn't mind being part once again of such an endeavor.

"Kahit ilang beses pa, walang problema sa akin," said the Rain or Shine big man. "Enjoy. Sobrang enjoy nito."
