Air Force Ellis’ takeoff with Blackwater delayed as he recovers from muscle cramps
Chris Ellis could be disharged on Thursday but unlikely to suit up for the Elite for the next game.

AIR Force Ellis’ takeoff is delayed.

Chris Ellis is set to miss his anticipated debut for Blackwater on Friday night against Barangay Ginebra as he is still recovering from full-body cramps.

The athletic wingman, acquired along with Dave Marcelo in a trade with the Gin Kings last week, has been confined in a hospital since Tuesday.

“After ng first day niya with us, nag-cramps yung full body niya, so dinala agad siya sa hospital para ma-check,” Blackwater assistant coach Aries Dimaunahan said in a short chat with after practice on the eve of the 7 p.m. matchup.

“Sa mga fans ni Chris na naglo-look forward to play against his former team, baka hindi pa mangyari bukas,” he added. “Hopefully next coming games, maging available na siya.”

Ellis, though, could be discharged from the hospital later Thursday.

“Mamaya magkakaroon kami ng feedback kung anong update sa status niya,” Dimaunahan said.

Marcelo, meanwhile, is set to make his debut against his former team.

“He’ll be coming in to spell Poy (Erram) and defend Greg (Slaughter),” Dimaunahan said of Marcelo. “Hopefully maging maganda ang debut ni Dave sa Blackwater.”
