Allein Maliksi faces a tough cast of challengers in the 3-point shootout.

BIG men get to flaunt the skills that small men are usually good at in the Obstacle Challenge of the PBA All-Star week that’s set late May in three key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Blackwater’s Poy Erram, who finished fifth in the Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference race, leads the cast of towering players who will take part in the race where they will flash their dribbling, passing, and shooting skills on the second day of the festivities on May 25 at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Asi Taulava of NLEX, Alaska’s Sonny Thoss, Rain or Shine's Beau Belga, Phoenix's Doug Kramer, Magnolia's Aldrech Ramos, and Yancy de Ocampo of reigning all-Filipino champion San Miguel Beer are among the veterans part of the challenge that serves as appetizer before the Luzon All-Stars take on Gilas Pilipinas.

Raymond Aguilar of Ginebra, GlobalPort’s Kelly Nabong, Columbian Dyip’s Russel Escoto, Meralco’s Ken Bono, and TNT KaTropa's Yousef Taha complete the cast in one of the sidelights of the All-Star show sponsored by Phoenix Fuels with Phoenix Pulse Technology.

In the other part of the All-Star Skills competition, Allein Maliksi defends his Three-Point Shootout title against former champions Terrence Romeo and James Yap.

Marcio Lassiter, Paul Lee, LA Tenorio, Matthew Wright, Larry Fonacier, Jvee Casio, Stanley Pringle, Ronald Tubid, and Garvo Lanete complete the provisional cast of gunners participating in the shootout on the day that sandwiches the first two days of the All-Star week.

The midseason spectacle opens in Digos on May 23 when the Mindanao All-Stars face Gilas, then ends on May 27 in Iloilo where the Visayas All-Stars take their turn against the national team.
