IMPORT AZ Reid returned to the US on Monday, putting a cloud of uncertainty over his anticipated comeback with San Miguel in the PBA Governors Cup.

Several goodbye messages posted on social media were directed at the two-time Best Import awardee prior to his departure, none more revealing than the one teammate Ryan Arana put out on his Facebook account showing him with Reid and veteran point guard Alex Cabagnot.

“See you again soon bro,” read the final part of the caption.

No one among San Miguel officials sought out by issued a formal statement on whether Reid has gone back to the US for good or will return to help the Beermen defend the same title they won with him as import last year.

But a source close to the prolific import said Reid is likely not coming back as he'll have the injury treated in the U.S.

Reid has been replaced by Mike Singletary as San Miguel import in the season-ending conference after suffering an Achilles heel injury that was aggravated during the Beermen’s 98-92 loss to Globalport Batang Pier at the Ynares Center in Antipolo two weeks ago.

He has since been put on the injury list by the team in the hope he recovers while Singletary plays the role of replacement import.
