NO rest for the weary after international duty? Three days should do it for Rain or Shine’s returning stars.

Coach Yeng Guiao said he expects Gilas Pilipinas members Gabe Norwood, Jeff Chan and Paul Lee, who arrived from Incheon on Thursday, to rejoin the Elasto Painters in practice on Monday in the buildup for the PBA’s 40th season.

With just over two weeks left before the much-awaited opening of the pro league’s 2014-15 season, Guiao is just happy to see his three key players back in practice - never mind if the Gilas stars have not had much offseason rest.

“I think mga three days, not bad na, more than enough time to rest, i-maximize na lang nila 'yun kasi magu-umpisa na ang liga,” Guiao told on Thursday.

Gilas Pilipinas placed seventh place in the Asian Games at the end of a long campaign that also saw the national team make a historic appearance in the Fiba World Cup in Spain.

The fiery Rain or Shine mentor said he wouldn’t be requiring too much physical activity from the three Gilas mainstays, but their presence is important as the team will star laying down their plays for next season.

“Pagdating naman nila sa ensayo, di naman namin sila bubugbugin, ang importante lang ma-walk through na namin sa kanila yung mga plays,” he added.

The 55-year-old Guiao also said being the veterans in the team, he doesn’t see any major adjustments for the trio when they return to PBA-play mode.

Rain or Shine owns an even 2-1 mark in preseason games, bowing to San Miguel Beer, 77-78 in an out-of-town match in Angeles City last month before bouncing back with a 92-87 victory over expansion team Kia.

The Elasto Painters beat Barako Bull, 100-83, on Friday with Beau Belga - a Gilas reserve - suiting up for the team at the Gatorade Hoops Center.

The Energy recently ruled the Leyte-Cebu pocket tournament, beating Goldstar Davao, Team Gullas Samsam of Cebu and Barangay Ginebra en route to the title.
