ARWIND Santos made up for missing what could have been a game-clinchinh jumpshot by completing a big defensive play and draining the marginal freethrows in San Miguel's 84-80 win over Magnolia.

The win put the Beermen on the hill in the PBA Finals with commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and Santos said he believes some divine intervention made the plays possible.

"Una, parang patintero kami ni (Rome) Dela Rosa e, noong pinasa sa akin ni (Chris) Ross, parang medyo nagulat ako ng kaunti na nalibre ako tsaka yung parang bitaw ko, matigas ng kaunti," said Santos, who finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots.

"Pero God is good, sa akin binigay yung dalawang free throws. Gusto kong makuha yung panalo nga, noong na-shoot ko yung dalawa, kamay ng Diyos yun," he added.

Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero said that this game was probably the best game they've played in the series and Santos is happy that they took the best shot of the Hotshots and still survived.

For Santos, he'd want nothing more than to start celebrating on Friday and reward ourelves for all the sacrifices they've made.
