MERALCO import Andre Emmett is hoping for a Manny Pacquiao victory and is excited to meet the Kia Motors coach when he returns for the PBA Governors Cup.

“I’m excited to see Pacquiao. I can’t wait to see him. I wanna take a picture with him and I wanna put it on my Instagram and Facebook accounts. I think my friends and family would love to see a picture of me with Pacquiao,” a beaming Emmett told, shortly after Meralco’s practice on Saturday.

The American forward out of Texas Tech, the 2015 NBA D-League All-Star MVP a few months ago, said he’s rooting all the way for the 36-year-old Pacquiao, hopeful that his long-time boxing idol could beat undefeated American world champion Floyd Mayweather when they face off in the super fight.

“This is the only fight left in boxing that’s exciting till the next guys come along. This is the ultimate championship because you have two of the best boxers in the world,” said Emmett, who averaged 44 points in Meralco’s two wins in tune-up matches.

“I watched how Pacquiao works and I watched how Mayweather works, and that’s some of the best work ethics in any sport so it’s hard. I don’t think nobody knows till tomorrow,” said Emmett.

The 32-year-old Emmett said what made him a fan is Pacquiao’s humility.

“When he’s in the ring, he gives his all.  He‘s in great shape. He never stops, it’s crazy because he’s the older guy, but he doesn’t look like it and he doesn’t move like it,” said Emmett.

“Most importantly, his faith is everything. He’s a role model. I don’t care what sport you play, if you look at Pacquiao, your motivated.”

Emmett was selected 35th overall by the Seattle Supersonics in the 2004 NBA Draft.
