BOCAUE - Alyssa Valdez only had about two days to spend in the Philippines for the holidays. So what better way to spend it than to finally witness her beau Kiefer Ravena play in the PBA.

Taking a break from her stint with Attack Line in the Chinese Taipei Volleyball League, Valdez witnessed the 'Phenom’s' first Christmas Day game as the NLEX Road Warriors blasted the GlobalPort Batang Pier, 115-104 at the Philippine Arena.

Flying in from Taiwan just last Sunday, Valdez, who missed Ravena's PBA debut, was treated to another impressive performance by Ravena as the former Ateneo star finished with 20 points, five assists and four steals for the Road Warriors.

That makes Valdez one happy fan - and an even prouder girlfriend.

“First time ko dito, first time ko manood ng game ni Kief din and it’s so nice to be back to spend Christmas here in the Philippines,” she said.

“We’re all proud of Kiefer naman talaga. He’s really working hard to be consistent sa pinapakita niya sa PBA so ayun, very focused naman talaga si Kief sa kung  ano yung gusto niya, we’re just gonna be here to support him sa dream niya sa PBA,” she added.

The former UAAP MVP said she wasn’t really worried about how Ravena will perform in the pro ranks knowing how hard his boyfriend worked to get this far in his career.

Asked if she felt ‘nervous’ on Ravena’s debut last week, Valdez said, “More of na-excite kasi alam ko matagal na niyang hinihintay makapaglaro sa PBA, so we’re just really happy.”

“Di ko rin napanood cause I was in Taiwan. He did well so talagang everyone got excited sa papakita niya sa upcoming games niya and sa PBA career niya,” he added.

The star couple may be spending time away from each other but Valdez is just happy with how their careers are going right now.

Valdez is currently turning heads in Taiwan with his play while Ravena is averaging 19 points and 8.5 assists per game in his first two outings as a pro.

“As of now, we’re really focusing sa careers namin. Kiefer is really doing a good job, sana ako, marami pa rin akong matutunan sa mga countries na pupuntahan ko,” said Valdez.

“We’re just really happy for each other. Sana magtuloy-tuloy 'yung mga blessings, di naman mawawala yung challenges sana ma-overcome namin together,” she added.

Needing to get back to Taipei, now it’s all about making the most of their time here.

“I’m gonna stay here sa Manila cause I have a flight to catch going to Taipei so if makakapag-dinner pa kami, then ayun.”
