ALLEN Durham continued to display his playmaking prowess as he put up another all-around performance in anchoring Meralco to a 100-93 win over GlobalPort in their PBA Governors’ Cup matchup.

The reigning Best Import dished out 10 assists that highlighted his second triple-double of the conference with 22 points and 22 boards in just 36 minutes of play.

His double-digit assist output has led him to tighten his grip on the lead in the assists department not just among imports, but the entire tournament with seven assists per game, ahead of Scottie Thompson, who’s averaging 6.6 assists per contest.

And like how he has dished out the leather, Durham passed credit to his teammates.

“We built our lead up, and guys were hitting shots. And when they hit shots, they make me look good,” Durham said. “So I got to give credit to my teammates for making me look good.”

“I figured I’m going to play forty minutes every given night or pretty much close to it, so I just let my game come to me, but I just try to find the open guy and just take what the defense gives me,” he added.

Durham, who also leads the conference in rebounding at 20 caroms per game, is glad to have floor-spacers to kick the ball out to – including their newest addition in Ranidel de Ocampo.

And Durham believes RDO could be the final piece to the puzzle in their bid to get over the hump after falling short last year.

“I think so,” Durham said of De Ocampo, who knocked down two triples against the Batang Pier. “He brings a lot of playoff experience, a lot of championship experience, and that’s only going to help us. This was only his second game with us and it’s only going to get better as soon as he feels more comfortable with the system, more comfortable with all the guys.

“I’m excited to see where we can go as a team,” he added.
