JV Casio and Cyrus Baguio spearheaded Alaska’s blazing 13-0 fourth-quarter windup as the Aces stepped up their playoff bid with a decisive 89-78 victory over San Miguel Beer in a PBA Commissioner’s Cup out-of-town game at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna.

Casio, the former Smart Gilas mainstay, and Baguio combined for two three-pointers to spark the Aces’ murderous game-clinching run that turned a close, highly physical contest into a rout.

Reigning Best Import Robert Dozier also came alive in the second half, scoring 18 of his team-high 20 points to go along with 20 rebounds, just four days after returning to the country after coming home briefly for the birth of his baby.

Dozier went a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line in Alaska's most impressive win yet in its title-retention campaign, which allowed the team to climb to 3-3 in a tie with Air21 and Meralco in the standings.

The loss, on the other hand, snapped the Beermen’s three-game win streak as they dropped to dropped to 5-2. San Miguel though retained second spot in the standings behind Talk ‘N Text’s immaculate 6-0 record.
