SWIFT but sweet.
That’s how Vic Manuel’s stint with Converge came about as he bid his latest PBA team goodbye after his month-long contract expired Monday.
The veteran forward has not renewed a new deal with the FiberXers and is set to take his act next to the Zamboanga Valientes which sees action in the Dubai Invitational Basketball Championship in the United Arab Emirates later this month.

Manuel thanked management of Converge in a social media post as he showed his gratitude to the franchise which signed him to a short contract at the tail-end of the PBA Philippine Cup eliminations.
“Thank you Converge. Short term, but it means a lot to me,” he said on his Facebook post.
“Good luck fam. See you around.”

Ginebra fans want Vic, Titan fans want a reunion
But netizens in the comment section were quick to urge both management of Barangay Ginebra and Titan Ultra to take a look and sign up the native of Licab, Nueva Ecija.
Fans pointed out the ‘Muscle Man’ will be a good addition to the Giant Risers where he’s expected to team up with close friend and Titan Ultra’s resident star Calvin Abueva.
Ginebra followers though, contend the 38-year-old Manuel could still give the Kings a threat at the post and complement veteran big men Japeth Aguilar and Troy Rosario.
Manuel likewise once played for Ginebra coach Tim Cone when he handled Gilas Pilipinas during its campaign in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games here in the country where the national team successfully retained the men’s basketball gold.
Incidentally, it was the Kings who booted out Manuel and the FiberXers in the All-Filipino Cup quarterfinals, including their classic do-or-die encounter for a berth in the semis which Ginebra won in overtime, 99-98.
In the three games Manuel played for Converge, he averaged 4.0 points and 1.6 rebounds.
