AN import with another NBA pedigree will reinforce Converge when PBA Season 49 kicks off with the Governors’ Cup.
Scotty Hopson will reinforce the FiberXers in the season-opening conference which starts on August 18.
Coach Aldin Ayo confirmed of Hopson’s hiring.

A product of Tennessee, the 34-year-old import had brief stints with Cleveland, Dallas, and Oklahoma City despite not being picked during the 2011 NBA draft.
He is the latest Converge import who has experience playing in pro basketball’s biggest stage in the tradition of Jamil Wilson and the high-scoring duo of Jamal Franklin and Quincy Miller.
Hopson last played for Maine Celtics, the affiliate of reigning NBA champion Boston in the G League.
In 2019, he was also part of Team USA that played in the 2019 Fiba World Cup Americas qualifiers, averaging 10 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2 assists over two games.
