TNT KaTropa coach Nash Racela has something up his sleeve that he hopes would be enough to disrupt San Miguel Beer in Game Six on Sunday night and force a sudden death in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

Asked if he still has tactical surprises that he could throw at the Beermen, the rookie PBA head coach hinted of one, although he understandably didn’t go into detail of the ploy on the eve of the win-or-go-home match for the Texters that tips off at 6:30 p.m.

“Of course we have something for tomorrow and I think it’s the best time to bring it out,” Racela said with a smile in a chat with SPIN.ph after practice on Saturday afternoon. “It’s a do-or-die game, so no better time to bring it out.”

“We’re hoping it works,” he added.

The Texters spent the first part of their training session on Saturday at Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in the viewing room before just walking through their plays.

Team manager Virgil Villavicencio, though, bared team owner Manny V. Pangilinan paid a surprise visit before practice to give the team another morale booster.

“Alam no naman nangyayari pag pumupunta si MVP dito,” Villavicencio said, referring to their big boss’ visit last Tuesday that resulted in a 109-97 win for the Texters in Game Four.

Racela said after their 111-102 loss in Game Five that the Texters have to limit their turnovers after committing 24 to SMB’s 14 on Friday.

But more than the technical side, Racela is reminding his wards to simply keep their emotions in check like what they did in the semifinals in eliminating crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra.

“It has been important to us because if you go back to the other series that we played, it really gave us a better chance of winning,” Racela said as he expressed confidence, so much so that he’s already talking like there's a Game Seven.

“So going to the last two games, it has to be a mentality that we should have – controlled emotions and better focus,” he said.
