YENG Guiao, consider yourself warned.
Commissioner Chito Narvasa on Sunday bared plans to wire PBA referees starting next season, to combat rants against officiating by coaches, players and officials that go overboard.
Narvasa said he wants referees to wear lapel microphones which he plans to use to keep track of conversations between the officials and coaches and players.
Specifically, the PBA chief said he wants to have an evidence if coaches or players used foul language against the referees.
'Makakatulong nang malaki ang lapel para mamonitor kung talagang minura ng player o coach ang isang referee dahil hindi nagustuhan ang tawag" Narvasa told the official PBA website.
The second-year commissioner has launched a crackdown on indiscipline since taking over from Chito Salud, meting fines amounting to hundreds of thousands for violations to the dress code to flagrant fouls.
Guiao has earned the brunt of the penalties, mostly for complaints against officiating.
According to the PBA, the plan is still pending the approval of the league board, but Narvasa wants it to be in place in time for next season.
