LARRY Muyang will finish his commitment with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the MPBL before joining Converge in the PBA.

But Converge head coach and Pampanga vice governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda doesn’t mind waiting for Muyang, who was acquired by Converge in a trade from Phoenix for Jeo Ambohot, who was then moved to NorthPort in exchange for Evan Nelle.

Pineda confirmed that Muyang’s indefinite ban in the PBA for playing in the MPBL in the middle of a live contract with Phoenix last April has been lifted and is set for action once the Giant Lanterns season comes to an end.

“After MPBL, he will play in the PBA,” said Pineda.

Muyang's ban was lifted in a recent PBA board meeting, clearing the way for Converge to acquire the 6-foot-6 player from Phoenix.

“I think na-lift na ‘yung ban dahil pumayag na sila sa trade. Nasa amin na ‘yung rights ni Larry,” he added.

Pineda said Muyang will be able to join the squad in the latter part of the season-opening Philippine Cup.

“Maximum, November or early December ang MPBL. Aabot pa siya sigurado,” said Pineda.

Larry Muyang is rounding out his campaign with Pampanga in the MPBL.

Muyang has gotten a lot leaner with his busy workload of playing for the Giant Lanterns while also practicing with the FiberXers. Muyang played in Converge’s tune-up game against Blackwater a day after also seeing action for the Giant Lanterns in their match versus Davao Occidental Tigers.

“Bumagsak (ang weight). Nagpa-practice ng nagpa-practice dito, kalalaro lang niya (last Friday), pinaglaro ko na naman dito. ‘Yun namang Lanterns, everyday is hard practice. Kahit may times na kailangan nila mag-everyday, fit ‘yung katawan nila,” said Pineda.
