LARRY Muyang is intent on giving quality minutes to the Converge big man rotation as backup to primary bigs Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar.
The FiberXers added depth for their frontcourt by signing Muyang after the conclusion of his commitment with Pampanga in the MPBL.
“Ok lang sa akin kahit pamalit ako ilang minuto. Basta ‘yung best ko, makatulong sa kanilang dalawa para kahit papaano, ‘yung pagod nila maibsan konti,” said Muyang, who returns to the PBA after playing for Phoenix from 2021-25.

The 30-year-old Muyang was actually reinstated after being handed a ban last April for breach of contract when he played for the Giant Lanterns while still under obligation to play for the Fuel Masters.
Muyang issued a written apology to the PBA Board and Phoenix, leading to the reinstatement, according to commissioner Willie Marcial.
Muyang’s rights were then traded by Phoenix to Converge, with Titan Ultra also part of the deal where Evan Nelle was received by the Fuel Masters and Jeo Ambohot was taken by the Giant Risers.
Larry learns his lesson
Muyang said he regretted what happened, but also admitted the ban was a blessing in disguise for him.
“’Yung kasalanan ko sa Phoenix, sa dati kong team, pinagbayaran ko naman po siguro dahil na-ban po ako,” he said.
“Pinagsisihan ko ‘yung pag-alis ko doon. Kung hindi po ako gagawa ng ibang way para mahanap ‘yung basketball career ko, hindi po lilitaw kung anong meron ako.”

Now back in the PBA and still under Converge coach Delta Pineda, who also called the shots for Pampanga, Muyang was glad to share the transition has been seamless.
“Unang-unang pina-ano sa akin ni boss Delta ‘yung weight ko. Sabi niya, bawasan ko para makasabay ako,” he said.
