AS if the winning run isn't enough, an even better piece of good news awaits Ginebra when it returns to action in the PBA Governors Cup two weeks from now.
Coach Tim Cone disclosed the Kings will finally parade big man Greg Slaughter in the game against Mahindra on September 9.
It will be the first time the 6-11 Ginebra center will be going to see action in the season-ending conference since undergoing surgery to remove bone spurs in his ankle three months ago.
"We're expecting him to play some minutes against Mahindra," said Cone after the Kings rolled to their sixth win in eight outings with a 116-103 whipping of Star on Sunday night.
"He'll be coming off the bench and we'll give him some minutes. We will slowly bring him back."
Cone said Slaughter will finally join the Kings in full practice beginning Monday.
Slaughter for his part, said he can' t wait to get back in action. Although the big man out of Ateneo said there's still a bit of pain that bothers him, he said it could just be part of the adjustment period after being out of action since May.
"I'll just try to get my rythm back," said Slaughter, who admitted missing playing the game especially after feeling the electricity inside the Big Dome during the Hotshots-Kings game.
